When the NFL Draft rolls around late next month, Virginia running back J’Mari Taylor hopes to see his name come off the board. Taylor had a productive season at UVA with 1,062 rushing yards plus 14 touchdowns and he’s projected as a potential pick in the later rounds.
While Taylor will wait until the end April to learn out his potential pro future, the Cavaliers will spend its spring figuring out his replacement in the lineup. There is no clear successor at this point off the offseason after all. Harrison Waylee, like Taylor, completed his eligibility last fall. Xavier Brown and Noah Vaughn are working back from 2025 injuries that cost them signficant time. Xay Davis saw limited time last season as a true freshman.
