When the Virginia football team begins spring practice in a little more than a month, it will do so with most of its 2024 roster already in place. That's because the Cavaliers added 17 newcomers as mid-year enrollees, the most in UVA history, as Tony Elliott tries to rejuvenate the program in his third season.

A mix of true freshmen and transfers make up the 17 newcomers already in Charlottesville. The names include freshmen Kameron Courtney, a late pickup after he flipped from Indiana, and Ethan Minter, the first player to commit in the 2024 class. Incoming transfers include Chris Tyree, Andre Greene Jr., and Tyler Neville, who all returned to their home state from Notre Dame, North Carolina, and Harvard respectively.
