On March 31, 2023, the Virginia Cavaliers were 24-2 following their game one win of their weekend series with Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. The following month - not so good. In the month of April, the Hoos lost 9 of 20 games and stood at 34-11. During that time the UVA baseball team posted a 5-9 record in ACC play and lost 4 of 5 conference series, including being swept by Notre Dame on a deplorable road weekend and losing at home to both Pitt and Duke.
