TheSabre.com introduced a new podcast partnership to be featured here on the site and through our social media channels. It's time for Episode 8.

Hosted by two people named Michael – ACC fans by birth, degenerate gamblers for mirth – The Preferred Walk-Ons Podcast is a college sports podcast through the lens of the ACC. Michael McGraw is a University of Virginia graduate and fan, while Michael Shutt is a life-long NC State fan. Both grew up watching the ACC and have insights on the history and present of the conference ... plus plenty of healthy ABC – (Anybody But Carolina) bias.

The race for the ACC Regular Season Championship is closer than ever after a weekend of high-profile games. In this basketball-centric episode, the pod discussed:

  • Virginia's disappointing road loss to VPISU (0:00-18:36)
  • NC State's ascendance in conference play and the upcoming match-up with UVA (18:36-28:32)
  • Coach Speak of the Week with Jim Boeheim (28:32-45:28)
  • Other big college basketball games from the weekend including Duke vs. UNC (45:28-1:02:06)
  • The ultimate ACC football road trip following the release of the 2023 schedule (1:02:06-1:28:26)
