This time, the Virginia football team won 31-21 at California to remain undefeated in the ACC standings. The Cavaliers scored on their first drive and never trailed, but did need a fourth quarter show from the defense to close out the W. UVA stopped four drives by Cal in the fourth quarter and Kam Robinson helped put the game away on one of them with a 35-yard interception return. That was part of a big day for the defense, which allowed just 263 yards.

Offensively, J'Mari Taylor scored 2 touchdowns to go with 105 rushing yards and Eli Wood scored a touchdown as well. Quarterback Chandler Morris completed 24 of 36 passes for 262 yards and added 38 rushing yards as well. Wood (46), Trell Harris (68), Cam Ross (59), and Sage Ennis (40) all posted at least 40 receiving yards.
