In light of Brent Pry's tenure in Blacksburg coming to an abrupt end, Preston Willett is joined by CVille Right Now Editor-In-Chief Mike Barber to process the state of college football in Virginia.
First though, Preston and Mike talk about the return of UVA linebacker Kam Robinson ahead of the Hoos' ACC opener against Stanford on Saturday night and then give their predictions for the matchup.
Then the guys take a big picture look at where the Commonwealth's five FBS programs currently find themselves, but especially Virginia and Virginia Tech. Preston and Mike discuss how linked the two ACC rivals are after coaching searches in 2016 and 2021, as well as how both UVA and VT are viewed. Then the conversation shifts to the events leading up to the Hokies parting from Brent Pry so early in the season and more changes to come. Mike and Preston give their best shot at some of the top coaching candidates for the position.
Later Preston poses the question of what Virginia Tech's coaching search means for Virginia and how a big opportunity is there to be seized by the Cavaliers. Finally, Preston and Mike ponder what the rest of the season will look like for both programs.
