With high school players making visits all around the college football landscape, Virginia got some great news from one of its visitors this weekend. The Hoos hosted Jordan Vann out of Ohio and he committed to the Cavaliers, their second class of 2026 pickup in the last week.

The Middletown High School prospect announced his decision on social media.

The 6’1”, 195-pound recruit received offers Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, West Virginia, Marshall, and many more. Interest had been picking up steam with WVU, Miami of Ohio, Temple, and UVA all making offers in the last two weeks. He also had made visits to Michigan State and Toledo in January with those schools plus Purdue also stopping by Middletown High.

Virginia’s offer came this past weekend for Vann during his visit to Charlottesville. The Hoos clearly made an impression because after posting that offer on his social media Saturday, he made the call for the Cavaliers on Monday. With that choice, he became the third commit in the class of 2026, joining North Carolina quarterback Ely Hamrick and Georgia offensive lineman Dylan Biehl.

Vann currently rates as a 3-star recruit on Rivals, while 247 Sports has not yet released a rating. He’s likely to climb those charts during the course of this offseason. His offer list, after all, has been growing quickly. Rivals has him as a receiver, while 247 lists him as an athlete prospect that can play either side of the ball.

UVA likes him as a prospect in the secondary. During his visit, he met with coach Tony Elliott but also spent time with defensive coordinator John Rudzinski as well as defensive backs coach Curome Cox. The Cavaliers added CJ Spence, Justin Rowe, Montino Williams Jr., and Corey Costner from the class of 2025 plus Keke Adams, Kevon Gray, and Ethan Minter from the class of 2024 as secondary targets. It’s an important position group to build via high school recruiting because competition for corners and safeties in the transfer portal can be fierce.
