Less than a week after picking up the first commitment from the Class of 2024, the Virginia football team secured a second recruit's pledge to the program. Lake Braddock offensive tackle Benjamin York announced his commitment on Twitter on Wednesday.

This is the first high school offensive lineman to commit since new position coach Terry Heffernan joined the program in January. The Hoos did pick up Dayton guard Brian Stevens via the transfer portal last week as well.

York is rated as a 3-star recruit by 247. He is ranked No. 29 in the state of Virginia and chose UVA over offers from Old Dominion, Appalachian State, and others. York's Hudl highlights show some of his work as a tackle in high school.

The 6'5", 286-pound lineman helped Lake Braddock piled up 4,681 total yards this past season en route to a 9-3 record. The Bruins produced 36.3 points per game and 62 touchdowns according to their MaxPreps.com statistics. They had a 2,000-yard passer in Daniel Lipovski and a 1,000-yard rusher in Elliot Meine.

Virginia coach Tony Elliott has wanted to place a priority on in-state and regional recruiting so this gets the Class of 2024 off to a good start in that regard.
