Ryan Odom put together a strong debut season and now the path for year two is officially out. The Virginia men’s basketball team released its full 2026-2027 schedule this week.

UVA opens the season on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at the John Paul Jones Arena when it hosts Drexel. On Friday, Nov. 3 the Hoos face Northeastern in Charlottesville as well. Both of those game times are to be determined.

After those two home games, the Cavaliers head to Washington D.C. for a neutral site game against Arkansas from the SEC. The two teams will play at Capital One Arena in a 1 p.m. game on Sunday, Nov. 8 that will be televised by ESPN. That’s the first of multiple high profile matchups on the schedule.

Virginia also takes on Maryland from the Big Ten in College Park on Friday, Nov. 13. The Hoos travel to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis event on Wednesday, Nov. 25 and Friday, Nov. 27. Games there come against Marquette and Xavier, both opponents coming from the Big East Conference.

Later in the schedule, UVA hosts Kentucky in the ACC-SEC Challenge. That game is set for Wednesday, Dec. 2 at the JPJ. The Cavaliers have another neutral site contest as well. That comes against UConn from the Big East on Sunday, Dec. 20 at Madison Square Garden. ESPN will carry that game at 3 p.m.

All of that comes prior to the start of ACC play.

Virginia opens conference competition at Clemson on Tuesday, Dec. 29. Those two teams did not play a league game last winter. Other ACC road games are at Stanford (Wednesday, Jan. 6), California (Saturday, Jan. 9), Miami (Saturday, Jan. 16), North Carolina (Tuesday, Jan. 19), Syracuse (Wednesday, Feb. 3), Pittsburgh (Tuesday, Feb. 9), Virginia Tech (Tuesday, Feb. 23), and Duke (Monday, March 1).

The Hoos’ first ACC home game is against SMU on Saturday, Jan. 2. Other ACC home games are against Boston College (Wednesday, Jan. 13), Georgia Tech (Wednesday, Jan. 27), Virginia Tech (Saturday, Jan. 30), Duke (Saturday, Feb. 6), Notre Dame (Saturday, Feb. 13), Louisville (Monday, Feb. 15), Florida State (Saturday, Feb. 27), and NC State (Saturday, March 6).

Before the season officially begins, Virginia does play three exhibition games. First, UVA meets Vanderbilt on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 12 p.m. in Charleston, S.C. at the LinkU Invitational. That game is planned to be held at Credit One Stadium, an outdoor venue that usually hosts tennis tournaments in the city.

In October, the Hoos host Richmond on Friday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. as part of Homecomings weekend at the University. Later, they travel to Villanova for one final preseason game on Thursday, Oct. 22.

In Odom’s first season with the Cavaliers, they rattled off a 30-6 record that included a 15-3 run through the ACC that placed them second in the standings. It marked just the sixth time in school history that the program won 30 or more games. UVA also advanced to the ACC Tournament Championship Game and qualified with an at-large bid for the NCAA Tournament. The Cavaliers advanced with an opening win, but lost in the round of 32.
